This 2001 Nordic Tug 32 is a fiberglass trawler with the classic tugboat profile and robust build that defines the model. The boat is powered by a single Cummins 6BTA 5.9 turbocharged diesel engine rated at 270 horsepower, paired with a Twin Disc MG5050 transmission. It measures 32 feet in length with an 11-foot beam, offering a manageable size suited to cruising and single-handed operation.
The interior includes a forward cabin and a salon with a convertible sofa that sleeps two additional guests. The galley is equipped with a Force Ten propane stove and oven, a Norcold refrigerator, and microwave. The head features an electric marine toilet with a Sealand Vacuflush system, stand-up shower, and pressure hot and cold water supplied from a 120-gallon fresh water tank. Two air conditioning units—a Dometic 16,000 BTU and MarineAire 12,000 BTU—are serviced annually.
Electronics include a Furuno Nav-Net plotter and radar, Furuno GP-31 GPS, Garmin 740S chart plotter, Raytheon ST60 depth finder, and ICOM IC-M502 VHF radio. The boat has a Northern Lights generator, Victron Energy inverter, deep-cycle house battery bank with galvanic isolator, and hydraulic steering set up for autopilot. A Lewmar Pro Series windlass with PSS dripless shaft seal handles ground tackle.
Recent maintenance includes a complete new stainless steel shaft with PSS shaft seal, cutlass bearings, and rudder post bearings in 2023; bottom paint in Micron Extra in 2023; a new Cummins turbocharger and mixing elbow in 2021; and engine and transmission analysis in December 2022 with clean results. The hull and topsides were compounded and waxed in 2022, and all door and window frames were stripped and repainted in 2023. A custom cockpit bimini and custom stainless steel and teak ladder to the salon roof are fitted.
