2001 Protector Targa 28

This 2001 Protector Targa 28 is a fiberglass rigid inflatable built on the builder's original Coast Guard SAR design. Measuring 28 feet long with a 9.5-foot beam, the boat combines utility and seaworthiness in a proven platform suited for work or recreation. Twin Yamaha 115-horsepower four-stroke engines power the boat; both are original to the vessel and have logged 1,645 hours.

The hardtop frame includes a full glass windshield with wipers and electric controls, refitted in 2022 with factory components. Red tubes with storm grey interior form the sponson system, newly reconditioned in 2022 with fresh tapes and coatings. The deck features synthetic teak flooring, stainless steel protection bars around the engines, a tow post, forward samson post with handrails, and an electric winch mounted at the bow. Removable rear box seats and canvas backdrops provide flexibility for configuration. An electric marine head and full boat cover complete the setup.

Electronics include a Furuno NAVnet C-map GPS and multifunction display with transducer, Furuno radar, Raymarine ST60 wind and speed instruments with data repeater, an AirMar weather station, Icom VHF radio, and a JVC marine stereo with Bluetooth. The boat has always been stored on a lift, never in the water, and maintained with service records kept throughout its ownership.
