The Alerion Express 28 is a 28-foot sailing yacht that draws on the classic lines of Nathanael Herreshoff's 1912 Alerion III, merging traditional design with contemporary performance. Built by TPI Composites in Warren, Rhode Island using SCRIMP resin infusion technology, she features a fiberglass hull in Awlgrip blue, a fin keel, spade rudder, and self-tacking Hoyt jib boom for responsive handling and single-handed ease. A 10-horsepower Volvo Penta inboard diesel with saildrive provides auxiliary power, with cruising speeds around 7 knots and a maximum speed of 9 knots.
