2002 Alubat OVNI 435

The Alubat OVNI 435 is a 43-foot aluminum cruising yacht built in 2002 by the French shipyard Alubat. Designed for blue-water voyaging, she combines offshore capability with a shallow draft that ranges from 0.80 to 2.30 metres, enabling exploration of less accessible anchorages. Between 2019 and 2025, the boat underwent extensive renewal and upgrading: the centreboard, rudder, and deck were serviced or replaced, with a full deck repaint completed in 2020. Standing rigging was replaced in 2019 and readjusted in 2023. The boat features a teak cockpit, rigid hard dodger and canopy, sun protections, and generous storage throughout.

Below deck are three double cabins plus a convertible saloon providing eight berths. Two full heads forward and aft include showers. The galley is fitted with a 2024 OceanChef cooker, large refrigeration, and a 2023 freezer. A Daewoo washing machine and AIRTRONIC heating support extended cruising. The sail plan comprises a full-batten mainsail, genoa, and staysail—all from 2016 and inspected in 2026—along with PROFURL furlers, Walder boom brake, lazy bag, lazy jacks, and an Ewincher powered handle.

Autonomy is a defining feature. The yacht carries a DESSALATOR watermaker producing 60 litres per hour with new membranes installed in 2024, 500 watts of solar power, and a Watt & Sea hydrogenerator producing 600 watts. Battery systems were renewed in 2024–2025, comprising Victron service batteries and a new engine battery, paired with a Victron Multiplus II inverter-charger. The single Nanni 62-horsepower diesel engine has accumulated 4,520 hours and received major preventative servicing including renewed alternators, heat exchanger, and cooling systems in 2025, along with professional soundproofing.

Navigation equipment is comprehensive and modern: dual-station Garmin GPSMAP 8612xsv with radar and AIS, Raymarine instrumentation, a new autopilot package from 2024, fixed and handheld DSC VHF radios, marine PC with ADRENA routing software, and Starlink High-Performance connectivity. Safety systems include a life raft valid to 2027, EPIRB, MOB beacons, serviced lifejackets, and multiple fire extinguishers. The ground tackle comprises a Rocna 25-kilogramme anchor with 80 metres of chain and a 2022 Italwinch dual-control windlass. A bow thruster, Hypalon dinghy with Torqeedo electric outboard, and aluminium gangway complete the equipment inventory.
