The 2002 Bayliner 5288 Pilothouse is a 52-foot motor yacht designed for Pacific Northwest cruising. Twin Cummins diesel engines produce 1,270 horsepower, delivering a cruising speed of 20 knots and maximum speed of 25 knots. The fiberglass hull measures 16.25 feet across the beam, and the boat features dual pilothouse doors, a bow thruster, and stern thruster to aid in maneuvering and docking.
The layout centers on an open design connecting the main salon, galley, and pilothouse without interior obstructions, allowing clear sightlines and shared space throughout. Three staterooms accommodate various cruising needs: the amidships master features a walk-around island bed, large vanity with sink and storage, and an ensuite head with shower and tub. The forward guest stateroom offers a queen bed with storage drawers underneath, hanging closets, and private access to a guest head with Vacuflush toilet and separate shower. A third stateroom with twin bunks and hanging locker suits shorter-term guests.
Navigation and comfort systems include NAIAD stabilizers, a 15-kilowatt generator, Garmin forward-looking sonar and wind indicator, and TracPhone and TracVision receivers. The boat carries Raymarine chart inserts covering 30 different regions, AIS transponder, and EPIRB. A two-year-old FCI watermaker, upgraded 24-volt charger, and batteries installed in 2022 support extended cruising. Four reverse-cycle heating and air conditioning units, LED lighting throughout, a dishwasher, and washer-dryer complete the accommodations. Additional equipment includes 400 feet of chain, a swim step with custom davit, full bridge enclosure, and a Caribe dinghy with 30-horsepower Tahatsu four-stroke engine.
