D'ARTAGNAN is a 50-foot Open Class sailing yacht built in 2002 by ALP COMPOSITES to a design by BERRET RACOUPEAU. Constructed from carbon and glass composite, she combines lightweight construction with exceptional structural rigidity. The yacht is equipped with a canting keel and twin rudders for stability and control, a Z SPAR carbon mast, NORDIC boom, and a comprehensive sail plan delivering up to 190 square meters upwind and 350 square meters downwind. A LOMBARDINI engine provides auxiliary power.
The deck layout and cockpit are optimized for efficient handling in offshore conditions, with ergonomic design supporting single-handed or double-handed operation. Below deck, the interior follows a performance-oriented arrangement with multiple berths, a central navigation station, and a compact galley suitable for extended passages at sea.
Navigation and systems include NKE and SIMRAD electronics with autopilots, radar, and advanced navigation software. The 2025 refit introduced a new engine, upgraded rigging, renewed deck hardware, and modern energy systems comprising solar panels and a hydro generator. Prior refits were completed in 2013 and 2022. The yacht has demonstrated competitive capability with a fourth-place finish in the 2022 Route du Rhum race.
