2002 Darling Yachts Trawler

This 71-foot Darling Yachts trawler is a custom aluminum-hull motor yacht built in 2002 and designed for extended cruising. Constructed with quarter-inch aluminum plating and finished in Imron, the hull combines commercial-grade strength with fine yacht detailing. Twin Cummins 450hp diesel engines deliver 900 horsepower total, paired with dual 32kW Westerbeke generators. The boat cruises at 10 knots and is equipped with hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, dual Glendinning controls, and redundant engine-room systems including Algae-X fuel conditioning and professional oil exchange capability.

The pilothouse design spans the full beam and serves as the command center, fitted with dual Stidd helm chairs, an Edson teak wheel, and comprehensive electronics including Furuno radar, FLIR thermal imaging, Garmin GPS, SSB radio, and Nobeltec navigation software. A raised settee and workstation support extended passages. Below, the main salon and dining area feature cherry cabinetry with solid brass Baldwin hardware, custom leather furnishings, and black ebony-inlaid tables. The master stateroom provides king-sized berths with seven-foot ceilings and cedar-lined storage. A guest cabin offers an L-shaped twin berth layout. Two full heads serve the accommodations.

Additional features include a Highfield 16-foot aluminum RIB with 90hp Yamaha engine and custom hydraulic davit, Webasto and Flagship Marine heating, Bose surround sound with satellite television, a water maker, dual Sub-Zero refrigeration units, full laundry facilities, and throughout-insulation and soundproofing. The cabin interior incorporates tongue and groove ceilings, birdseye maple stairs, and attic-style storage.

Over the past two years, nearly every system and surface has been upgraded or restored. Recent work has included extensive hull restoration, mechanical corrections, modernization of electronics, and professional resolution of inspection findings. Engine hours are under 2,900 on each diesel; generator hours are approximately 3,000.
