2002 Dufour Gib'Sea 43

This 2002 Dufour Gib'Sea 43 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built for extended offshore passages. At 42.65 feet in length with a 14-foot beam, it combines proven design with substantial equipment for serious sailing. The boat is powered by a Volvo Penta MD22 diesel engine with injectors and pump serviced in 2019 and a new starter installed in 2024.

The accommodation layout includes three to four modular cabins, featuring a convertible owner's cabin, plus two heads. Storage tanks are generous—600 liters of fresh water and 250 liters of diesel—supporting long-distance cruising. Below deck, a large electric refrigerator, full galley with oven and gas cooktop, and new AGM batteries (2023 for house systems, 2024 for engine) support comfort and self-sufficiency. An Alpine audio system with four speakers serves both cabin and cockpit.

The rigging and sails reflect recent attention. The standing rigging was replaced in 2019; the jib dates to 2020 and the mainsail was serviced in 2021. Navigation electronics include VHF radio, Furuno chart plotter, and Raymarine hydraulic autopilot. An electric windlass was overhauled in 2024. Power generation comes from three 140-watt solar panels and an Aerogen 4 wind turbine, providing extended autonomy at sea.

Safety and tender equipment complete the package: eight life jackets, an EPIRB beacon, and a 2021 Bigship dinghy round out the boat's readiness for cruising.
