The Hallberg-Rassy 36 Mark II is a proven bluewater cruiser, small enough to handle single-handedly yet capable of sailing anywhere in the world. Built in 2002 as hull number 561, this fiberglass yacht represents the refined second generation of the HR36 design, which produced 602 boats between 1989 and 2003. The Mark II benefits from an extended transom with integrated bathing platform, a wider stern, and an enlarged aft cabin superstructure that creates additional interior volume and improved accommodations compared to the earlier Mark I. The hull was designed by Germán Frers and combines moderate V-shaped sections that deliver smooth motion at sea, a quality typically found on larger yachts.
The interior layout prioritizes comfort and ease of movement. The main mast support integrates with the structural bulkhead rather than obstructing the saloon, and a large forward-facing chart table provides dedicated navigation space. The yacht features two cabins and one head. Strong craftsmanship throughout reflects the design philosophy of experienced yachtsmen who built traditional elegance into every detail.
The Volvo Penta D2-55 diesel engine underwent comprehensive overhaul in November 2025, including full cylinder head disassembly, valve work, injection pump service, starter and alternator reconditioning, exhaust system work, and complete routine servicing. A successful sea trial followed commissioning. The sails remain in very good condition with extended service life ahead. The yacht was relaunched in May 2026 following pre-season maintenance and is ready for cruising.
