2002 Monterey 220 Explorer Sport

The Monterey 220 Explorer Sport is a 22-foot hybrid that blends the open feel of a sportboat with the spacious, practical layout of a deckboat. Power comes from a single 260-horsepower Mercruiser engine with fuel injection. The main cockpit is accessed through a walk-through transom door and features an L-shaped lounge that wraps around the transom and portside, ending at a full wet bar. The helm includes a modern glass cockpit with full instrumentation and a flip-up pilot seat for standing operation while idling.

The bow section is deep and enclosed, housing a full head, abundant storage, and an integrated cooler, with a forward boarding ladder for easy access. A factory swim platform and rear boarding ladder add functionality, bringing the overall length to nearly 24 feet. The helm received a new steering system in 2024, and the boat is equipped with a tandem axle trailer featuring new brakes, lights, and four-year-old tires.

Recent upgrades include a new bimini canvas, navigation and instrumentation, a revamped electrical system, new batteries with smart battery switch, new bilge pump, and a new prop, all completed between 2024 and 2026. The electrical system has been freshly renovated to support modern systems reliably. With approximately 500 hours of use, the boat has been consistently maintained and stored on a lift in a marina.
