This 2002 Ocean Yachts 48 Super Sport is a diesel-powered sportfish built around two Caterpillar 3196 engines producing 660 horsepower each. The boat cruises at 25 knots and has logged only 1,735 engine hours. A Westerbeke generator with 311 hours provides ship power. The single-owner yacht has been used primarily for cruising and fishing in the Bahamas and Key Largo waters.
The Plan A layout provides three staterooms and two heads for extended passagemaking. A bow davit and cradle system allows carrying a WaveRunner or small tender, while the cockpit canopy folds aft to open the working deck for fishing. An EZ2CY front and side enclosure was installed in May 2023, expanding weather protection and usable space.
The engines have received significant maintenance over their service life. Both turbochargers were reconditioned and aftercoolers serviced in June 2021 at 1,651 hours. The starboard engine received a new heat exchanger and alternator in June 2026, when bottom paint, metal paint, and underwater lights were also refreshed and the rudders and shafts were resealed. Both exhaust risers were replaced in October 2022, and cylinder heads were reworked in September 2015 with CAT remanufactured parts and inspected injectors and aftercoolers.
