2002 Outremer 55 Light

The Outremer 55 Light is a high-performance sailing catamaran built from solid fiberglass hulls. This boat is designed for fast ocean voyaging, capable of regular 200 to 240 mile days under sail. The rig was completely renewed in 2008 with a new Z-Spar mast, standing rigging, and high-quality cruising laminate sails. A second mast was replaced in 2009, and one of the two Nani diesel engines was replaced in 2014.

Accommodations include large queen berths in the aft cabins of each hull, central heads with two large showers, and forward V-berths in each hull that can be configured as singles or bunkbeds. The boat is equipped for extended cruising with solar panels, a Spectra Santa Cruz watermaker, separate Isotherm refrigerator and freezer, and an Equinox heating system.

Navigation and control systems include dual Raymarine autopilots, a 2013 Raymarine Hybrid Touch Multi-function display with radar and AIS, and an oversize Lofrans windlass. Sails aboard comprise a Hydranet radial main, jib, and screecher, along with a 2002 Quantum asymmetrical spinnaker. The boat is outfitted with multiple anchors and a Victron inverter for power management.

Tender and dinghy space is provided by a new Achilles rib measuring 10 feet 4 inches, powered by a 2013 20 HP Honda 4-stroke outboard. This catamaran is configured as a complete offshore cruising platform with modern systems and substantial reserve power.
