The 2002 Protector 28 Targa is a fiberglass-hulled rigid inflatable designed for recreational and commercial diving, cruising, and utility work. At 28 feet with a 9-foot-4-inch beam, it combines the stability of a rigid hull with the buoyancy and safety of inflatable tubes. Two Yamaha outboards deliver 300 horsepower total, and the engines were replaced in 2009 and show only 408 hours of running time.
The boat features a single cabin with one head, providing basic accommodation for overnights or layovers. The layout supports the boat's practical mission as a work platform while maintaining comfort for cruising operations.
The inflatable tubes were renewed in 2016 and reinforced in 2021 with abrasion pads, oversized rub rails, and an additional protective layer of Hypalon on the aft section to extend service life and improve durability. The fiberglass hull remains in sound condition, supported by regular maintenance over its service life.
