The Saga 43 is a respected offshore cruiser built on proven design principles. This 2002 model combines moderate displacement with a powerful sail plan, delivering strong sailing performance alongside the comfort and functionality required for extended cruising. The 43-foot fiberglass hull, powered by a Yanmar diesel engine, provides the foundation for serious bluewater work.
Recent upgrades executed over the last five years have substantially modernized the boat. A new mainsail was installed in 2025. The navigation suite includes a Garmin electronics package. Topsides, mast, and boom were professionally repainted. The mast step—a major structural component—has been replaced. LED lighting, including spreader lights, was installed throughout. An arch fitted with solar panels enhances off-grid capability.
The accommodation spaces reflect practical cruising design. Both heads have been updated: a new conventional head forward and an electric aft head. The refrigeration system was upgraded with a new freezer and refrigerator combination. Ground tackle includes an anchor windlass, a Rocna primary anchor, and a Fortress secondary anchor. A storm sail package—storm jib and trysail with removable inner forestay and rigging—is aboard. Canvas covers the boat for protection and comfort.
