This 2002 Sailfish 236 CC is a fully equipped sportfishing boat built on a composite variable deadrise stepped hull designed for a soft, dry ride in both nearshore and offshore conditions. The 23.5-foot hull with 9-foot beam combines fuel efficiency—averaging 2.5 miles per gallon with a 120-gallon tank for a 225–250-mile range—with a 250-horsepower Suzuki four-cycle engine rated to 43–45 mph. The single-engine setup has just 300 hours, with two-thirds spent idling during fishing operations.
The fishing layout is purpose-built with exceptional storage throughout. Tackle storage under the seats and inside the cockpit accommodates 30 or more Plano boxes. Rod storage includes eight under-gunnel positions and over 20 built-in rod holders. Additional compartments hold ice, a tuna bag, and gear, with separate dedicated spaces for ice and catch up to 80 pounds. A 25-gallon live well with internal LED lighting serves bait or catch, and a 25-gallon freshwater tank is also aboard. The boat features a salt-water rinse hose, stern-mounted chrome swim step ladder, and Trimco trim tabs for stability.
Navigation and electronics are current. A Simrad GO9 XSE radar with enclosed HALO dome integrates sonar, radar, GPS, and NMEA 2000 networking across two nine-inch displays with independent fish-finder sending units. Lighting includes underwater LED white lights, under-gunnel blue lights, bow-mounted docking lights, and tower-mounted LED lights with separate switches for bow, stern, port, and starboard. Audio is a Bose stereo with Bluetooth and USB inputs, paired with waterproof WiFi and Bluetooth speakers with integrated LEDs.
Recent work includes a new 250-horsepower Suzuki engine (2022, under warranty to May 2027), complete rewiring and labeling throughout (2023), a replacement 120-gallon aluminum fuel tank (2022), and refinishing of the T-top console (2023). New cushions, a removable rear jump seat, and full canopy covers are included. The boat comes with a 2019 24-foot Load-Rite Elite dual-axle bunk trailer featuring new tires and remote tire pressure monitoring. Minor cosmetic gelcoat crazing exists in typical areas but does not affect function.
