The 2002 Silverton 38 Convertible is a fiberglass sportfish powered by twin Caterpillar 3126B diesel engines, each producing 450 horsepower and equipped with turbochargers. The boat measures 38 feet with a 14-foot beam and rises 21 feet from the waterline to the top of the anchor light. Twin engines log approximately 1,500 hours on the port side and 1,490 on the starboard.
The interior is laid out with two staterooms, each with access to a shower and head. The galley features a new three-burner cooktop installed in November 2024 and a new hot water heater from October 2024. The spacious convertible design suits both live-aboard arrangements and extended cruising.
Recent maintenance work includes a bottom job completed in April 2024, with shafts trued and new dripless shaft seals installed on both sides. The starboard side received a new cutlass bearing and coupler. Both turbochargers were replaced in August 2023. The port engine underwent a valve job and injector service in August 2023; the starboard engine received a valve job and injector work in 2022. The boat has been maintained on a regular professional schedule throughout its ownership.
