The 2002 Skipjack 262 Flying Bridge is a 26-foot fiberglass sportfish built for serious fishing and comfortable cruising. Power comes from a single 300 hp Mercruiser gasoline engine. The flying bridge is well laid out for electronics, with space for radar, VHF, GPS, and fishfinder, and features comfortable swivel chairs for extended time underway or at rest.
Below deck, the cabin is open and bright, with good visibility throughout. The forward V-berth measures 7 feet 3 inches by 5 feet 3 inches and includes storage shelves on both sides, a 20-inch translucent hatch for light and ventilation, and upholstered 4-inch cushions. The galley offers a large Formica table suitable for dining, chart work, or rigging gear, with handmade seat cushions featuring 3-inch foam and storage underneath. The dinette table converts to a double berth when needed.
The head is fully enclosed with 6 feet of headroom and includes a stainless steel sink, shower extension, marine head with macerator pump, and a 15-gallon holding tank. The countertop is Formica trimmed in oak or teak.
The engine room is designed for straightforward maintenance, with all through-hull fittings in cast bronze bedded in polyurethane. Heavy duty hoses are secured with stainless steel clamps, and all wiring and hoses are tied down to prevent chaffing. The fiberglass below deck is faired and coated with gelcoat for easy cleaning. A custom hardtop provides weather protection, and the boat is equipped with a new Lowrance fishfinder and autopilot.
