The Beneteau 57 is a modern classic offshore cruiser designed by Bruce Farr, built to balance performance with seaworthiness and comfort. Her moderate displacement, generous sail area, and well-proportioned hull deliver responsive sailing characteristics that remain steady and reassuring through extended passages. The center-cockpit layout provides excellent security and visibility, with a deep, well-protected cockpit positioned for both passage making and entertaining. Wide teak side decks, solid construction, and a generous aft deck with integrated swim platform reinforce her offshore capability.
The boat is rigged as a sloop with a removable inner forestay and self-tacking Lewmar track, allowing configuration as a cutter if desired. Control lines run aft to the center cockpit, and three powered winches are arranged for easy shorthanded sailing. The Yanmar 160 hp diesel engine with 1,394.8 hours drives a feathering propeller through a direct-drive transmission, supported by a 13.5 kW Onan generator. A 24v bow thruster aids maneuvering. The aluminum mast features electric furling genoa and Leisure Furl boom systems for manageable sail handling.
Accommodations span four private cabins with four heads and separate showers. The full-beam aft owner's cabin includes a centerline queen berth, vanity, extensive storage, and a private ensuite head with separate shower. A watch cabin forward serves as crew quarters or flexible space. Two symmetrical guest cabins forward each have double berths, individual heads, and access to a shared shower in the forward peak. The salon opens to a navigation station and galley, finished throughout with alpi woodwork, teak, and parquet floors. Air conditioning operates independently for the salon and each cabin.
Recent work includes standing rigging replacement, bottom paint in 2025, new lifelines, and service to all deck equipment and engine systems through 2026. The hydraulic steering pump, transmission, cutlass bearing, and rudder components have been addressed. Electrical systems were upgraded with new voltage regulators and AGM batteries in 2025. The full cockpit canvas enclosure and windscreen date to 2021, and teak throughout was cleaned and sealed in 2026.
