The 2003 Hinckley Talaria 29R is a 29-foot composite runabout built for coastal cruising and entertaining. Powered by a single 440-horsepower Yammer diesel engine driving a Hamilton jet drive, the boat combines shallow-draft capability with seaworthy ocean performance. The hull employs Hinckley's DualGuard composite construction with Kevlar and carbon fiber reinforced skins, while the deck features molded-in nonskid and extensive varnished teak detailing throughout. Custom features include a flag-blue hull with boot stripe, extended swim platform with teak treads, custom Mocha Awlgrip cockpit interior, and matching tan and brown striped cushion seating.
The cockpit layout centers on a helm station with a 15-inch Nardi wheel, Hinckley JetStick control system integrating steering and bow thruster, and a teak instrument pod. Forward is an L-shaped lounge with table; amidships sits an engine box with lift-access top, serving as both a cooler and sink station, with additional aft-facing seating. A full-width aft settee and freshwater cockpit shower complete the social spaces. The boat accommodates up to ten people on deck.
The forward cuddy cabin sleeps two with a V-berth that converts with a filler cushion, finished in varnished cherry with white overhead. A Vacu-flush head and opening overhead hatch provide ventilation and necessary facilities. The 2020 hull repaint, soda-blasted and barrier-coated bottom, new eisenglass enclosure, and full cockpit cover reflect recent cosmetic and protective work. A 2021 Yammer 1,000-hour service, including engine removal and cleaning, documents mechanical maintenance. Electronics include a 2020 Raymarine Axiom multifunction display, Fusion stereo with remote, and Raytheon autopilot and VHF. Dual 1,500-gph electric bilge pumps and an electric bow thruster support safe operation.
