2003 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37

The 2003 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37 is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built around a proven design for extended passagemaking and comfortable living aboard. At nearly 36 feet with a 12-foot beam, it offers the balance of seaworthiness and interior space that made this model a favorite among cruisers. Power comes from a single Volvo Penta MD2040 diesel engine producing 29 horsepower, with a feathering propeller and serviced shaft and cutlass bearing. The boat carries a 150-foot chain with the original serviced windlass, a 20kg Rocna anchor, and a 20kg Danforth spare with chain. Standing rigging was replaced in 2022. Bottom paint is approximately one year old. Structurally, the keel bolts are solid, the rudder is secure, and there are no soft spots in the hull. A Fischer Panda PMS 6000 diesel generator with 151 hours of service provides auxiliary power.

The interior comprises two cabins and two heads arranged in the classic Sun Odyssey layout. A new Isotherm refrigerator, marine AC unit, and window AC provide climate control. A new propane stove, freshwater pump, and LED lighting throughout support comfortable cruising. The boat was fitted with a 2024 full dodger.

The electrical system has been completely rewired and upgraded for off-grid capability. A 400Ah Renogy lithium battery bank pairs with a Victron Phoenix 1200W inverter, Victron Orion 50A charger, Victron Lynx Distributor, and Renogy REGO 50A MPPT solar controller. Four hundred watts of solar panels feed the system. A Victron SmartShunt monitors battery status. A Blue Sea Systems panel and new DC and AC outlets support the modernized power distribution. A ProMariner 20A charger handles backup charging.

Navigation and electronics include Raymarine chartplotters at two stations—an Axiom 12 Pro and Axiom 9—with Raymarine Quantum 2 radar, Garmin VHF, Garmin wind instruments, and a Garmin GPS header. A Fusion RA670 stereo with Pioneer and Fusion speakers rounds out the entertainment system. The boat includes Southeast U.S. and Bahamas charts. A tender with an 8-foot aluminum hull and Tohatsu 8HP engine is included. Complete manuals, spare parts, and service logs are on board.
