2003 Meridian 490 Pilothouse

The 2003 Meridian 490 Pilothouse is a 49-foot fiberglass motor yacht powered by twin Cummins 330hp 6BTA diesel engines. Built for Pacific Northwest cruising, the boat combines the pilothouse design with a three-stateroom, two-head layout that sleeps six, making it well-suited for extended passagemaking and coastal exploration year-round.

Recent mechanical work includes new aftercoolers, alternators, transmission oil coolers, risers, and batteries, along with a complete custom electrical and charging system. A Northern Lights 5kw generator was installed new, and a Webasto hydronic diesel furnace provides heating across four zones. Navigation and deck equipment includes a ComNav autopilot, electric windlass with plow anchor, and bow thruster operable from both helm stations. House batteries—ten Lifeline AGM-Gel units—are new in 2024, as is the associated wiring and Victron BMV-712 smart inverter charger.

The interior has been redesigned to maximize space and light. The salon features a straight settee to starboard, replacing the original L-shaped design, and the galley has been reconfigured with custom storage drawers and open sightlines to the stern windows. The pilothouse provides elevated helm seating with access to both port and starboard decks, while the upper helm includes additional seating, entertainment facilities, and galley service. An 11-foot 7-inch Immar 310R-AL aluminum RIB tender with a 20-horsepower 4-stroke Suzuki outboard is included.
