The Nordhavn 46 was designed from the start to cross oceans safely and comfortably—a philosophy that set it apart from the lighter, faster boats of its era. This 2003 example represents a later-series hull built with the strength and simplicity that defines the brand. A fiberglass hull powered by a single Lugger L668D diesel engine with keel cooling and dry exhaust, she combines proven offshore capability with thoughtful engineering for extended voyaging.
The interior layout places the owner's stateroom forward with a centerline queen berth, vanity, and generous storage. A guest cabin amidships features over-under berths and a built-in desk. Two heads serve the accommodations—one en suite and one forward-facing with a separate shower. The salon offers an L-shaped settee to port and movable dining furniture to starboard. A galley athwartships to port divides the working and entertaining spaces. The pilothouse sits above, with a raised settee, pilot berth, and excellent forward sightlines. A flying bridge—uncommon for the 46—adds a second control station with steering, thruster, and navigation repeaters, providing an open area for watch-keeping or additional gear storage. Deck features include a Portuguese bridge around the pilothouse, stainless rails, and a raised boat deck aft with dual anchors on a Maxwell windlass.
Between 2021 and 2025, nearly every major system was rebuilt or replaced: the transmission (TwinDisc MG-5061A), hydraulic steering with redundant pumps, ABT TRAC stabilizers, all below-waterline through-hulls and valves, the keel cooler, main engine coolant pump and starter, freshwater and bilge systems, and the air-conditioning ductwork. Navigation and communications were substantially upgraded with Furuno DR NXT radar, FLIR thermal camera, Starlink internet, and Iridium satellite link. Interior updates included LED lighting throughout, new Raritan heads, dual Vitrifrigo refrigeration, refinished teak, and renewed deck and cabin cushions. The engine shows 3,400 hours; the generator 1,904 hours.
