2003 Outremer 45

The Outremer 45 is a fiberglass catamaran built around a design philosophy balancing speed with cruising comfort. The narrow hull design and daggerboards yield strong performance in variable conditions, with cruising speeds around 7 knots and capability to reach 8 knots-plus in better wind. Two Yanmar diesel engines of 60 hp each provide auxiliary power.

The main deck layout centers on a light, airy salon with large dining table and U-shaped settee with overstuffed cushions, alongside a navigation station. The galley occupies the aft starboard cabin—an unusual placement that delivers generous counter space, privacy, and abundant storage. The port side serves as the owner's quarters and includes a double berth and a separate head with shower and electric toilet. A twin bunk cabin midships and single forward cabin complete the four-cabin layout. The cockpit is well-protected for offshore sailing and comfortable anchoring.

The boat spans 45 feet with a 23-foot beam, providing the broad platform characteristic of catamaran design. The long, slender hulls track steadily, and the layout prioritizes the straightforward functionality needed for extended cruising. This is a boat for active sailing and passage-making, built to be sailed rather than simply maintained.
