The X-362 is a 2003 X-Yachts cruising sailboat built to a custom specification that blends racing performance with comfortable cruising. The hull and deck employ X-Yachts' sandwich construction with internal steel framing and a composite keel, delivering rigidity and seaworthiness. A tall mast sourced from the Sport version, high-performance keel drawing 2.25 metres, and aft-positioned chainplates give the boat responsive handling and efficiency under sail. The single Yanmar diesel engine produces 30 horsepower and cruises at 6 knots, with a maximum speed of 7 knots.
The layout combines performance features with practical cruising comfort. Wheel steering replaces the typical tiller, and an electric bow windlass simplifies anchoring. The yacht accommodates two cabins and one head, with construction slightly heavier and more solid than race-focused versions. These elements make the boat manageable for both experienced sailors and families.
In 2024 the mast was removed and its standing rigging completely replaced and tuned. Both spreader pairs and their fittings were renewed, as were the mast collar ring and step. The rudder was removed, dried, and treated with epoxy resin. Saildrive seals were replaced, the autopilot actuator overhauled, and the engine serviced with new insulation. A full engine service was also performed, and new engine and service batteries were installed in 2026.
