The Beneteau 473 is a respected cruising yacht built for serious offshore capability combined with comfortable interior space and manageable performance. This 2004 model measures 47 feet in length with a 14-foot beam and is powered by a 63-horsepower Westerbeke diesel engine with approximately 1,600 hours. The hull is fiberglass with a fin keel and spade rudder, designed by Groupe Finot. The boat carries 57 gallons of fuel and 222 gallons of water, with two holding tanks and a hot water system.
The interior is arranged as a two-cabin, two-head layout with sleeping accommodation for seven. Forward is the owner's cabin with a queen bed, sitting area, and private ensuite featuring a separate shower. The saloon centers around a large chart table to port, equipped with radar and multifunction displays, while the galley to starboard includes a double stainless sink, Adler Barbour refrigerator with separate freezer, gimbled three-burner stove, and microwave. A convertible saloon table and port settee offer additional berths. The aft cabin has a king bed and private access to the second head. Extensive storage runs throughout, with LED lighting converted in most fixtures and screens fitted to all windows.
The electrical system includes a 2024 Victron inverter-charger, 720 amp-hours of AGM batteries installed in December 2023, and three articulating solar panels with dedicated charge controllers. Navigation equipment features Garmin and Raymarine instruments, a Standard Horizon VHF with DSC from 2023, and Raymarine RL70C radar. The mainsail was replaced in 2022 with light use since. Deck gear includes in-mast furling with electric winch, self-tailing Lewmar winches, a Simpson Horizon 1500 windlass with motor replaced in 2022, and 400 feet of anchor chain and rode with backup Danforth anchor. An Achilles LSI-260 dinghy with 8-horsepower Yamaha outboard and lifting crane complete the inventory.
The boat was hauled and anti-fouled in July 2025, with fresh hull wax, new zincs, recent engine maintenance including water pump, hoses, and fuel injectors, and a detailed maintenance log on file. The expansive cockpit features teak seats, twin helms, a dodger with clear panels replaced in 2024, and outdoor shower. A large galley supports extended cruising, while excellent natural light and ventilation run throughout the boat.
