The 2004 Fountain 42 Lightning is a high-performance offshore sport boat built on the proven race platform that holds the V-bottom world speed record. Twin Mercury 525 Racing engines with staggered configuration power the boat, coupled to Bravo XR drives. The top ends of both motors were recently serviced, and a compression test was completed on August 5, 2024 with no additional running hours since.
The cabin features a single berth with one head and a custom carbon fiber dash. The boat carries the graphics from its previous role as a show boat for TIRET Watches, with some light dock rash on the painted surfaces that can be refinished.
Recent updates include a new companionway top lid and swim ladder hatch on order from Fountain. A triple axle trailer is included with the boat. At cruising speed the boat reaches approximately 43 knots, with a maximum speed over 71 knots.
