2004 Hinckley Picnic Boat 36 EP

This 2004 Hinckley Picnic Boat 36 Extended Pilothouse combines traditional down-east design with modern marine engineering. The composite hull features Hinckley's DualGuard construction with Kevlar and carbon fiber reinforcement, finished in dark green Awlrip with a cream house and molded nonskid deck. In 2025, the boat was repowered with a new Yammer 6LY440 diesel producing 440 horsepower paired with a Hamilton 292 jet drive, delivering a cruising speed of 21 knots and a maximum speed of 29 knots. The jet propulsion system integrates with the Hinckley JetStick Gen3 control—a single joystick that manages forward and aft motion, steering, and the integrated 7-inch bow thruster for responsive handling.

The pilothouse showcases hand-varnished teak trim throughout, with adjustable Stidd helm and co-pilot seats in off-white Ultra Leather. Four opening ports and fixed forward windows provide full visibility, while four overhead acrylic hatches with screens and LED dimmer lighting create an airy wheelhouse. The extended layout includes an L-shaped settee with new 2023 cushions to port and an integrated wet bar with insulated icebox, foldaway faucet, and electric-lift engine box access aft. Navigation electronics comprise a Raymarine Axiom multifunction display with GPS, Raymarine autopilot with rate sensor, Raymarine radar, and Icom VHF.

The single cabin forward holds a convertible double V-berth with storage underneath and in the forepeak. The galley sits to port with stainless steel sink, Force 10 two-burner propane stove, 12-volt Adler Barbour refrigeration, and 600-watt microwave. The head to starboard features a Sealand Vacu-Flush electric head plumbed to a 27-gallon holding tank, porcelain sink with hand-held shower, and cherry-faced cabinetry. The full aft cockpit includes a removable bimini, forward-facing cushioned settee, fishing rod holders, shower with mixing valve, and louvered teak lockers.

The electrical system runs 12-volt DC with three 540-amp batteries and 110-volt AC shore power capability. Mechanical features include two aluminum fuel tanks totaling 160 gallons, a stainless steel 6-gallon hot water heater heated by shore power or engine, dual 1500-GPH bilge pumps with float switches, and a Halon fire suppression system. Deck hardware includes a Muir electric windlass with Delta 22-pound anchor, teak ensign pole, and custom stainless steel mooring cleats and chocks. A new 2023 Fusion MS-RA770 stereo system provides entertainment throughout.
