The 2004 Hinckley Talaria 29R is a composite runabout designed by Bruce King and built to cruise with grace and efficiency. Powered by a Yanmar 6LY2A-STP 440-horsepower diesel engine paired with a Hamilton 292 jet drive, the boat delivers a top speed of 33 knots and cruises at 28 knots while drawing minimal water—ideal for shallow-draft exploration. The jet propulsion system is controlled via the Hinckley JetStick I Gen 3 integrated steering system, which also manages a bow thruster for enhanced maneuverability. The hull is constructed from DualGuard composite with Kevlar and E-glass outer skin, balsa and Corecell core, and carbon fiber inner skin, finished in Stars and Stripes blue Awlgrip with a cream-colored deck and teak transom.
The cockpit is finished with varnished teak covering the dash and coamings, with the helm seat and L-shaped settee upholstered in Ultraleather. The boat includes a freshwater system with galley sink and shower, a portable cooler mounted over the engine box, and abundant storage throughout the cockpit sole and settees. A teak sole, removable teak table with folding leaf, and Picnic Boat-style steps for easy aft-cockpit entry are part of the custom package. The cabin forward features a V-berth with cherry-varnished sides, stain-finished cherry trim, and a foredeck hatch with screen; a 12-volt marine head with 10-gallon holding tank serves the space.
Navigation and communication electronics include a Raytheon L760 Plus GPS chartplotter with 7-inch color display, a Raytheon 53 DSC VHF radio, and AM/FM receiver with marine speakers. A Ritchie compass and autopilot are also installed. The electrical system comprises dual batteries—one 880-CCA start battery and one 210-amp-hour house battery—dual electric bilge pumps with float switches, and an 80-amp alternator supporting the 12-volt distribution panel.
Recent upgrades include a fresh Awlgrip hull finish, new 15-inch stainless steel wheel with varnished wood trim, JetStick I Gen 3 controls, and fresh varnish throughout. The boat is equipped with a windlass package featuring a 15-foot stainless steel chain, 150 feet of anchor rode, and a Muir windlass with helm controls. A Halon engine-compartment fire suppression system, safety gear including life jackets and flares, and docking lines complete the package.
