The Island Hopper 30 is a commercial-grade explorer built on a wide, stable hull designed for working applications. With a 12-foot beam and deep-V entry that transitions to a flat aft section, the boat delivers stability and predictable handling whether underway or at anchor. The 500-horsepower Yammer diesel powers efficient cruising and quick planning performance. Hand-laminated fiberglass construction—eight to eighteen layers thick in the hull bottom with reinforced chines, bow, and keel—provides strength for sustained operation. A self-bailing deck, double-wide chines, and four longitudinal stringers complete the robust build.
The open layout centers on dive operations, with custom benches accommodating thirty tanks and an excellent dive ladder for crew access. A large transom gate and integrated swim platform facilitate water work. The flybridge includes controls and a Bimini frame for all-weather operation. Trim tabs support precision maneuvering.
The boat was hauled and stored on the hard in August 2022 in good running condition after commercial service in Florida and a 2018 import to the Cayman Islands. Two 100-gallon fuel tanks support extended range. The boat is US Coast Guard certifiable for 24 passengers and two crew on partially protected waters.
