2004 Moody 64

The 2004 Moody 64 is a 63-foot fiberglass cruising yacht built around Bill Dixon's proven design. Her Kevlar-reinforced hull and bulb keel provide the strength needed for extended offshore passages, while a cutter rig with full furling and self-tacking staysail simplifies sail handling. A 240 hp Yammer diesel engine delivers a cruising speed of 9 knots, and the boat carries substantial fuel and water reserves—2,200 and 1,000 litres respectively—supporting long passages without frequent stops.

The accommodation spans four cabins: three guest cabins with en-suite heads and a separate crew cabin, sleeping six guests total plus crew. The saloon features an open galley with ceramic hob, electric oven, dishwasher, and refrigeration including a wine cooler. Climate control comes from a Crusair air conditioning system. Two electric Lewmar winches (68 and 56) paired with three manual Lewmar winches (56 and 30) keep sail handling manageable for a couple, supplemented by a QUICK electric windlass with remote and a Side Power bow thruster for docking.

Recent overhauls completed in 2024 and early 2025 address the boat's core systems: the main engine has close to zero hours since overhaul, the generator has been thoroughly rebuilt, all seacocks replaced, and the windlass rehauled in 2023. The vang and rudder underwent overhaul, new batteries were installed, and cockpit cushions and sprayhood replaced. Interior joinery received fresh paint on wooden floors, dinette, and chart table, with new blackout blinds and mosquito nets added to aft cabins. All winches received full maintenance in 2025.

Navigation equipment includes a Raymarine 120 radar plotter, Raymarine autopilot, Autohelm wind and depth instruments, and an ICS NAVTEX weather receiver. On deck, electric Simpson davits manage tender handling, and a bathing platform with shower serves extended cruising. A watermaker aboard supports self-sufficiency underway.
