The Oyster 82 is a flagship bluewater cruising yacht built in 2004 to the Rob Humphreys design, representing the pinnacle of Oyster's yacht-building philosophy. With an 82-foot length and 21-foot beam, this fiberglass hull combines strength and refinement for ocean crossings and extended cruising. The deep blue hull and solid teak deck convey a distinctive presence, while the mahogany interior creates a warm, cohesive atmosphere throughout. The yacht cruises at 9 knots and reaches 11.5 knots under sail, capable of covering over 240 nautical miles daily.
The interior layout provides five cabins and four heads, with every space designed for comfort and functionality at sea and at anchor. Accommodations reflect careful attention to liveability, making extended passages and long-term cruising genuinely comfortable.
The yacht has undergone comprehensive recent maintenance and upgrades. The diesel CAT engine received a full overhaul at 5,000 hours in 2020. New Doyle sails were installed in 2018 and 2020. A complete rod rigging replacement and full mast service occurred in 2024. Additional significant work includes new battery banks (2400 Ah capacity), replacement of running rigging with Dyneema, bow thruster overhaul, radar and chartplotter upgrades, and new watermaker installation. Seacocks, engine batteries, autopilot drive unit, and furling systems have all been serviced or replaced. Exterior work in 2024 included stern repainting, boom repainting in Awlgrip, and new exterior upholstery in Sunbrella.
