2004 Silverton 48 Convertible

This 2004 Silverton 48 Convertible is a fiberglass flybridge yacht built on a wide 16-foot, 4-inch beam. Twin Volvo Penta D-12 diesel engines rated at 715 horsepower each power the boat to cruising speeds in the mid to high 20s, with a top speed over 30 knots. The design blends the lines of a convertible with modern cruiser elements, featuring an integrated arch and hardtop with a full four-sided enclosure that can be air-conditioned. A molded flybridge with recent polycarbonate side and front enclosures provides excellent weather protection and visibility.

The interior centers on three staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom amidships offers a walkaround queen berth with private head access. The forward cabin has a queen island berth and its own head. A third cabin provides upper and lower berths. The main salon features an L-shaped settee with an aft-facing recliner, solid cherry cabinetry with satin finish, a dinette area, and an open galley with Corian countertops and hardwood flooring. Unusual for the class, large forward windows bring natural light into the salon. Standard amenities include a central vacuum system, high-quality soft goods, European fixtures, and innerspring mattresses throughout.

The flybridge includes helm seating with tiered electronics, a companion seat, and a forward lounge area that is generously proportioned. The cockpit features a livewell, raw water washdown, freezer, transom door, and engine room access. A hydraulic Sea Lift dinghy lift system is installed. The engine room, with 5 feet 6 inches of headroom, is well-organized with engines mounted on vinyl-coated steel I-beams that distribute loads to the bulkheads, gelcoat-finished bilges, and vacuum-bagged, balsa-cored composite construction beneath the salon sole.

Recent upgrades include new bow thruster batteries with recent service, a new SureShade retractable cockpit shade, updated galley fresh water pump, custom master mattress, new wallpaper throughout, three new televisions, custom hi-low salon table, new washer and dryer, fully re-upholstered flybridge cushions, new custom cockpit and flybridge step carpeting, and a new flybridge aft enclosure. Electronics are comprehensive and include SIMRAD and FURUNO navigation systems with dual VHF radios and Class B AIS, an autopilot, and color sounder, plus entertainment systems in the salon and cabins.
