The 2004 Tiara Yachts 4400 Sovran is a 43-foot express cruiser built with gelcoat, quadaxial fiberglass, balsa core, and vacuum bag technology throughout the hull and deck. Twin Cummins QSM 11 diesel engines deliver 1,320 horsepower, with a cruising speed of 17 knots and a maximum speed of 27 knots. The boat features a custom enclosed helm station with heat and air conditioning, a locking door, and a hinged console with full engine instrumentation and an adjustable admiral helm seat. Forward of the helm is a sweeping composite windshield integrated with the hardtop, while the aft deck includes a swim platform extending 52 inches with hydraulically actuated storage access.
Below deck, the galley features Corian countertops and a stainless steel sink. The main salon includes plush leather seating and a folding birds eye maple and teak table that converts to a berth, bringing total sleeping accommodations to six. The master stateroom has a queen-size pedestal bed with spring mattress and storage below. A second stateroom contains two overlapping bunk-style beds, a combination washer and dryer, and its own head with sink and shower.
Recent service has been extensive. In 2025 and 2026, the boat received new batteries, new GARMIN GPS units, new air conditioning units, teak refurbishment, bottom and running gear service, and compounding and waxing of the hull. Both engines underwent major overhaul work in 2021, including new turbos, exhaust manifolds, impellers, and seawater pumps. In 2020, the custom helm enclosure was installed along with new engine controls, genset work, cutlass bearings, battery systems, and significant electronics upgrades including twin Garmin displays and new SMX Cummins engine monitors.
