The 2005 Azimut 42 is a 43-foot motor yacht built with a fiberglass hull featuring a modified vee shape. Twin Caterpillar 3126 DITA engines, each producing 390 horsepower, deliver a cruising speed of approximately 21 knots and a maximum speed near 28 knots. The yacht accommodates guests with two heads and a thoughtfully arranged interior layout suited for entertaining or extended time at sea.
In 2019, the yacht received substantial updates including replacement engine impellers, serviced generator heat exchangers, and cleaned and flushed engine aftercoolers. Navigation and communication systems were upgraded with new Garmin 4212 xsv chartplotter with transducer and Garmin HD radar, along with a new ICOM VHF radio on the flybridge. A three-sided flybridge enclosure was installed, and the salon received a new air conditioning unit.
Additional 2019 work included new carpeting throughout the cabins and replaced tachometers on the flybridge. In 2020, starboard engine batteries were renewed and a new ice maker was added. The bottom was repainted with fresh paint and zincs applied in 2021. A fireboy extinguisher in the engine room was replaced in 2019.
