2005 Catalina 36 MkII

The 2005 Catalina 36 MKII is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built on the respected Mark II platform, known for its balance of sailing performance and interior livability. This 36-foot boat features a wing keel draft configuration drawing approximately 4 feet 5 inches, making it accessible to shallower cruising grounds while maintaining stability. Power comes from a 35 hp Universal diesel engine paired with an Autostream self-feathering propeller that reduces drag under sail and improves maneuverability. The boat cruises efficiently at around 6 knots with economical fuel consumption.

The sail plan is notably versatile, with a furling headsail, an additional 85 percent headsail for heavier conditions, a gennaker for light wind and downwind work, and a mainsail. Deck equipment includes a Maxwell 800 electric windlass with Rocna anchor, Lewmar self-tailing winches, and a roller furling system. Electronics are comprehensive, with a Raymarine C30 chartplotter, closed array radar, autopilot with remote control, and wind, speed, and depth instruments, backed by an Icom VHF radio.

The two-cabin interior sleeps six to eight and uses a practical layout with a forward V-berth, private aft cabin, convertible salon with large dinette, and functional galley with stove, oven, and refrigeration. A navigation station provides a dedicated workspace. The enclosed head includes a shower, and the boat has hot and cold pressurized water throughout, plus a cockpit shower. Heating is handled by a Webasto diesel forced air system.

Onboard systems are well-equipped: an Xantrex inverter charger with remote, Charles 30 amp battery charger, and AGM battery bank support extended cruising, with 25 gallons of fuel and approximately 70 gallons of water capacity. Additional features include a Dodger and Bimini top, engine lifting davit, Alder Barbour 12 volt refrigeration, and cockpit cushions with mooring canvas.
