2005 Cobalt 226

This 2005 Cobalt 226 is a 22-foot fiberglass runabout powered by a Volvo Penta 8.1L engine with dual props, producing 375 horsepower and capable of 60 mph. The engine was upgraded during original purchase as a significant performance option and represents a meaningful investment in speed and capability for a boat of this class.

In 2023, the engine underwent comprehensive mechanical rebuilding. The long block was completely renewed with new pistons, rods, cylinder heads, valve train components, gaskets, oil cooler, exhaust manifolds and risers, water pump, alternator, outdrive, trim, seals, and hoses. The propeller was also machined during this work. Parts and labor totaled approximately $12,000, with all salt-water-exposed components replaced as part of the restoration.

The boat has been maintained consistently over its life, kept on a lift and flushed after each use due to its raw water cooling system. It shows 800 hours on the hull with 60 hours logged since the mechanical overhaul. Interior cushions and gauges were recently renewed. The boat comes with a dual-axle trailer and all associated paperwork and titles.
