The 2005 Contender 36 Open is a fiberglass center console built for offshore fishing and cruising. Powered by triple 2015 Mercury 300 hp outboards totaling 900 hp, the boat runs only 650 hours and delivers the speed and range expected from this design. The deep-vee hull carries a 10-foot beam, with a fuel capacity of 410 gallons and freshwater tank for extended trips. The boat includes two 50-gallon transom livewells plus an in-deck livewell, and two 76-gallon insulated fishboxes under the cockpit sole.
The open cockpit layout centers on a console with a head compartment below. An aluminum T-top frames the helm, recently fitted with custom isinglass for weather protection. The boat holds a forward coffin box for ice or additional storage, and a custom tackle station has been added to the layout. Rod holders and below-deck storage are positioned throughout the cockpit.
Electronics consist of a Simrad 16-inch Evo3 display, Simrad Go9, and Simrad 4G radar with autopilot. Underwater lights and a stereo system with new amplifier and speakers are installed. The livewells were recently serviced with new lids bearing Contender logos. A triple-axle trailer with new wheels and 14-ply tires is included.
