The 2005 Gause Built 26 is a center console designed for shallow-water fishing on Florida's west coast while maintaining the stability and seaworthiness to venture offshore. Built on a composite, foam-cored hull with a shallow draft of approximately 12 inches, the boat combines a wide reverse chine and flared bow for a dry, stable ride across varying conditions. Power comes from a 300hp Mercury V8 mounted on a Porta Bracket, installed in 2021 with new controls and rigging.
The deck layout prioritizes angler comfort and functionality, with wide gunnels finished in non-skid, a spacious rear livewell, and dedicated casting areas. The center console is tall and well-integrated with the hardtop for weather protection and equipment mounting. Forward storage includes a large top-loading anchor locker with convenient access and a pop-up bow cleat. Seating throughout the boat features re-engineered cushions and bolsters, with underseat storage. A slide-out Frigid Rigid cooler matches the deck aesthetics.
Recent work includes a full repaint of the hull and Porta Bracket in Awlgrip Key Lime Green with clearcoat in 2023, interior gelcoat in Ice Blue and Snow-White with new non-skid, and front cushions and bolsters redone. New steering lines, a resealed steering cylinder, and a full service on the motor were completed in 2026, along with a wet sand and buff of the hull. Electronics were professionally installed, featuring a Simrad EVO3 16-inch display, Fusion head unit with JL speakers and amplifiers, and RGBW under-gunnel lights with Seablaze underwater transom lights.
