2005 Hunter 38

This 2005 Hunter 38 is a fiberglass-hulled cruising sailboat built for comfortable passage-making and extended time aboard. She carries approximately 841 square feet of working sail area on a Selden double-spreader fractional rig, with a large-roach mainsail and 110% furling jib managed by self-tailing winches and cockpit-led controls. A shoal-draft bulb-wing keel paired with a balanced spade rudder gives her predictable handling and access to shallow anchorages, while a Yanmar diesel engine provides auxiliary propulsion backed by a 60-amp alternator, 30-amp battery charger, and full AC/DC electrical systems.

The cockpit is arranged for both sailing and entertaining, featuring an integral grabrail with fold-out table, hinging helm seat, large storage locker, stern-rail seating with drink holders, and a walk-through transom with swim platform. A hot-and-cold shower, stainless-steel cockpit arch with adjustable mainsheet traveler, and Flexiteek seat inserts create a clean and functional working environment. Internal halyards lead aft to the cockpit, and dual single-line reefing supports short-handed operation.

Below deck, the interior offers a bright salon with AC outlets, reading lights, and handrails throughout. The hull is built with balsa-cored sides, solid FRP bottom, Kevlar reinforcement, bronze seacocks, and a through-bolted hull-to-deck joint.
