2005 Leopard 43

The 2005 Leopard 43 is a fiberglass catamaran built by Robertson and Caine, designed by Simonis and Voogd. At 43 feet with a 23-foot beam, she combines offshore capability with comfortable interior volume. Twin Yammer 39 hp diesel engines drive her to a cruising speed of 6.5 knots. The yacht carries an Ocean Class A rating and was purpose-built for blue water cruising rather than charter work. A 12-foot AB dinghy with Tohatsu 18 hp outboard is included.

The four-cabin layout accommodates extended cruising and liveaboard use. Three heads are fitted with freshwater electric toilets; the fourth has been converted to a laundry room with washing machine, reversible if needed. One cabin serves as storage. The spacious saloon and cockpit feature upgraded upholstery, shades, and lighting. Wide transom steps and swim platforms facilitate boarding and water access.

Power systems are extensive and modern. A 1390-watt solar array installed in 2022 and 2023 pairs with 800 amp-hour Discover lithium batteries and a Victron 3000-watt inverter charger. A Northern Lights 9 kW generator provides backup. A SeaWater Pro watermaker produces 20 gallons per hour. Two Dometic air conditioning units and two large SeaFrost fridge freezers plus a portable Dometic freezer support comfort. The galley includes a Force 10 propane stove with oven and induction cooktop.

Navigation and safety systems are current. Equipment includes a Raymarine Axiom 9 chartplotter, AIS transceiver, autopilot, VHF, and helm compass. A life raft is new from 2022; the yacht also carries EPIRB, extinguishers, detectors, and medical kits. The rig features a new Ullman mainsail from 2023, genoa in good condition with new UV cover, and all standing rigging replaced in 2024. Engine maintenance including cutless bearings, shaft seals, and heat exchangers was completed in 2025. Bottom work and antifouling are recent. Spares and tools are aboard.
