The Sabre 38 Hard Top Express is a fiberglass express cruiser built around twin 440 hp Yammer 6LY2A-STP diesel engines with approximately 1,171 hours. Known for its seakeeping characteristics and refined design, this 38-footer combines practical functionality with traditional New England styling. Hull paint was refreshed with Awlgrip in 2024 and deck paint completed in 2025.
On deck, the boat carries a full suite of navigation and control systems: dual Garmin GPSMap 5212 displays, Garmin radar, Simrad autopilot, dual VHFs, and a Simrad multi-display. Operational systems include a Side-Power bow thruster, Sea Star hydraulic steering, Bennett trim tabs, and Glendinning synchronized engine controls. Crew comfort and entertaining space center on Stidd helm and companion seats upholstered in Ultraleather, a bridge deck lounge with folding table, teak helm deck, a wet bar, U-Line cockpit refrigerator with icemaker, and an aft-facing cockpit lounge. Practical cruising features include a Lewmar windlass with helm controls, Delta anchor, transom shower, searchlight, windshield washers and wipers, and saltwater washdown.
Below, the cabin layout offers a forward centerline queen berth with storage below, an ensuite head with separate stall shower and companionway access, and a saloon with an L-settee that converts to a double berth. The galley is equipped with a Princess two-burner cooktop, microwave, deep stainless sink, and Dometic refrigerator/freezer, all set against Corian countertops. A cherry interior and teak-and-holly sole throughout provide traditional warmth typical of the Sabre brand.
Extended cruising is supported by four MarineAir reverse-cycle air conditioning units, an Onan 9 kW generator in a sound shield, battery charger, and satellite television receiver. The boat has been maintained and used as an owner's practical cruiser rather than a static dockside display.
