2005 Sea Ray Sundancer 280

This 2005 Sea Ray Sundancer 280 is a fiberglass cruiser built on a deep-V hull with a 21-degree deadrise. Twin Mercruiser 4.3L engines each producing 220 horsepower drive the boat to a cruising speed of 24–26 mph, with a top speed near 40 mph. The hull stretches 28 feet with an integrated swim platform bringing overall length to 31 feet 1 inch, and the moderate beam of 9 feet 5 inches provides stability and interior space. The boat drafts 1 foot 10 inches with drives up and 3 feet 3 inches with drives down, making it trailerable.

The single-level cockpit features flexible seating with a portside bench that converts to a lounger, a helm seat with bolster, and an aft-facing bench that folds into a sun lounger. Molded cabin steps and a walk-through windshield provide easy access. Below deck, the layout includes a forward V-berth, mid-cabin berth, and convertible dinette that sleeps six total. The galley is fitted with a stove, microwave, and refrigerator. A VacuFlush head, air conditioning and heat, and a 28-gallon fresh water system serve the living spaces. A large storage locker integrates into the transom.

Recent service and upgrades include a port engine replacement in 2022 with approximately 150 hours of running time; the starboard engine shows about 370 hours. Both main engines, outdrives, and the Kohler 5E 5kw generator were fully serviced in June 2025. The boat received detailing and waxing in March 2026. A Garmin chartplotter was installed in 2023, and new Optima batteries were fitted in March 2025. Equipment includes a windlass, full canvas camper enclosure, and both blue cockpit and tan storage covers. A 2022 Nextrail triple-axle trailer with electric over hydraulic brakes is included.
