The 2005 Sea Ray Sundancer 280 is a 31-foot fiberglass cruiser built to accommodate six people overnight. Twin 5.0L Mercruiser engines with Bravo III outdrives deliver 520 horsepower combined, pushing the boat to a maximum speed of 45 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots. The engines were rebuilt in 2020 and currently show 187 hours each, with the boat totaling 802 hours.
The boat features synthetic teak decking throughout and a full camper canvas enclosure. Below deck, accommodations include heat and air conditioning, a Norcold refrigerator, and a microwave. Navigation and entertainment are handled by a Garmin system with chart plotter, radar, and transponder, paired with a Fusion stereo.
Recent maintenance and upgrades span multiple years. In 2024, the navigation system, stereo, throttle and cables, and interior and exterior tables were replaced. The previous year brought a starboard heat exchanger, windlass anchor motor, anchor light, and a full starboard outdrive overhaul including u-joints, input shaft, and new fluids. Port and starboard impellers were also refreshed in 2025. The 2023 work included three dual-purpose batteries, head system service, and electrical system service. Most recently in 2026, the front canvas and isinglass were installed, outdrives were painted with new anodes, and a full engine tune-up was completed.
