The 2005 Seawind 1160 Deluxe is a 38-foot catamaran built for cruising. This three-cabin, two-head model combines the open-plan design and extensive visibility the Seawind name is known for, anchored by the signature tri-fold saloon doors that connect interior and exterior living spaces. At 60 feet air draft, the boat navigates the Intracoastal Waterway comfortably. Two 60-horsepower Yanmar diesel engines power the fiberglass hulls.
The boat has been substantially upgraded with modern systems focused on energy independence and self-sufficiency. A 1600W solar array and 900Ah lithium battery bank backed by a complete Victron power management system support a 120V watermaker (30 GPH output) and 18,000 BTU air conditioning installed in 2025. Navigation relies on a Raymarine Axiom 2 multifunction display paired with a Quantum 2 radar suite, also from 2025.
Recent maintenance reflects systematic preparation for extended cruising. Standing rigging was replaced in 2024–25, with running rigging upgraded to Dyneema in 2026. The propulsion line received new self-pitching Brunton Autoprop propellers and HydroAxe shaft cutters in 2025. Hull windows were re-bedded and custom AquaTraction decking installed in 2024. The boat carries an extensive inventory of cruising equipment and spares accumulated during active Bahamas cruising.
