2005 Sparkman & Stephens NEB 45 Downeast Sedan

This 45-foot Sparkman & Stephens downeast sedan combines traditional styling with modern hull design for capable cruising. Built by New England Boatworks to a custom specification, she features a shallow-draft, chined hull with propeller tunnels and a centerline skeg, delivering efficient planing performance alongside a seakindly ride. Maximum speed reaches 23 knots with a cruising speed of 19 knots and sufficient range for extended passages.

The yacht's interior emphasizes comfort and practicality for remote cruising. Extensive sound insulation keeps the cabin quiet, while redundant systems and low-maintenance exterior surfaces reduce the demands of upkeep far from shore. Single head serves the accommodations.

Recent work in 2025 included a full 1000-hour service on the twin Yammer engines, generator service, new shaft seal, and upgraded electrical systems with new Mastervolt batteries and a new Mastervolt 2000W inverter. The boat has been consistently maintained and upgraded throughout her service.
