The 2005 True North 33 is a 33-foot fiberglass cruiser built with the patented SCRIMP infusion system, which creates a hull and deck that are lighter and stronger than conventionally laid-up construction. Powered by a single 440-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with approximately 1,100 hours, she combines efficient cruising with low maintenance. Her design emphasizes what owners actually want: the galley and dining area sit at deck level with water views, while the open aft deck with custom removable seating and wide side decks offer plenty of space for relaxation and stowing kayaks or paddleboards. Double transom doors swing open to a swim platform, and her sweeping sheerline, plumb bow, and reverse transom give her classic Downeast character.
The interior follows an open-concept layout built around practicality. The main cabin includes a V-berth forward with opening ports and overhead hatch, plus a convertible salon settee, accommodating up to four overnight guests. The galley to starboard features a sink, two-burner stove, microwave, and 12-volt refrigerator-freezer. A full-sized head with all fiberglass surfaces, freshwater vacuflush toilet, and combination shower serves the cabin. The helm station offers 360-degree views, and the engine room is easily accessible from the saloon with ample space around the powerplant for routine service.
Recent work includes a new aft curtain with Isinglass and sun top, new windshield wipers, a rebuilt Aqua Drive gear, new engine starter, and annual Yammer and generator service in 2026. New house batteries were installed in 2025, along with new engine oil coolers. The 2024 Yanner turbos and 2023 TV antenna upgrades are also in place. The hull received Awlcraft paint in 2019, and the generator was rebuilt in 2022.
Electronics include a Raymarine C120 multifunction display, ST60 depthsounder, and ST6001 autopilot, along with a Standard Horizon VHF and JVC stereo. The boat carries two Rocna and spade anchors with electric windlass, a 3.5-kilowatt generator, air conditioning in the salon and V-berth, and comprehensive safety gear including life jackets, flares, and fire extinguishers.
