2006 Back Cove 26

This 2006 Back Cove 26 is a downeast cruiser built on a fiberglass hull with proven seakeeping qualities. The full bow sections provide substantial buoyancy forward, and the vee hull delivers a soft ride into headwinds while the large chine flat and lift strakes keep spray well away from the boat even in the aft cockpit. The hull banks into turns with agile handling, and the design draws from classic Maine lobster boat proportions updated with modern construction.

Power comes from a Volvo D4 diesel engine rated at 260 horsepower with electronic controls, delivering cruising speeds in the 20–25 knot range and a top speed near 28 knots. With 100 gallons of fuel capacity, the boat achieves a cruising range exceeding 250 nautical miles at 20 knots, reducing refueling frequency on extended cruises.

Equipment includes a factory-installed hardtop with full enclosures, a Side Power bow thruster producing 88 pounds of thrust for confident docking, auto trim tabs, and 7000 BTU air conditioning. The helm carries a newer Garmin electronics package with a 14-inch multifunction display, radar, and VHF radio. The hull received fresh Awlgrip paint in 2023, and a full winter cover is included.
