This 2006 Back Cove 29 combines classic Downeast styling with a robust single-diesel cruising platform. Powered by a 315 horsepower Yanmar diesel engine with approximately 825 hours, the boat cruises efficiently at 20 to 22 knots and reaches speeds near 28 to 30 knots. The deep-vee hull with prop pocket draws approximately 2 feet 6 inches, suited to New England coastal waters and shallow harbor access. Both bow and stern thrusters provide precise maneuvering in confined spaces.

The fiberglass hull uses vacuum-bagged Divinycell core construction reinforced with E-glass and vinylester resin for blister resistance. Bronze through-hulls and a prop pocket that reduces shaft angle contribute to the boat's durability. Fuel capacity is 150 gallons with a range of approximately 270 nautical miles at cruise, supporting extended trips with efficient consumption around 10.8 gallons per hour.

The cockpit features a self-draining layout with wide side decks and stainless railings, offering excellent helm visibility. SeaDek flooring was installed in 2023. Sliding side windows provide ventilation. Below deck, accommodations include a forward V-berth, convertible dinette, galley with refrigerator, stove, and microwave, and an enclosed head with shower. Cherry interior woodwork rounds out the cabin finish. The layout supports comfortable weekend cruising or longer passages.
