The 2006 Chaparral 256 SSi is a 26-foot fiberglass runabout powered by a single 320-horsepower MerCruiser gasoline engine. The design combines features borrowed from Chaparral's larger deckboat and cruiser lines, delivering the feel of a larger boat with the acceleration and handling of a sport model.

The cockpit centers on an entertainment-focused helm with plenty of room for driver and passengers. The transom features a walk-through center section flanked by a full-width sun lounge and two hinged storage trunks. A U-shaped aft seating area accommodates multiple people and accepts a pop-in table for dining; cushion fillers convert the space into a sun bed. Forward, bow loungers offer similar flexibility with table and sun bed options. Boarding is easy via fore and aft ladders.

An enclosed fiberglass head integrated into the portside dash console serves as a practical amenity for extended time on the water. The cabin layout prioritizes comfort and social space for families and groups, making it well-suited to full-day outings.
