This Grand Banks 47 Heritage EU is a 2006 cruiser powered by twin Caterpillar diesel engines producing 1,006 horsepower, with a maximum speed of 24 knots and cruising speed of 21 knots. Hull number 3 of the series, she features a Sparkman & Stevens design with an extended hull that integrates the swim platform as part of the running surface, increasing waterline length and strengthening the platform compared to later bolt-on designs. The fiberglass hull measures 47 feet in length with a 15.75-foot beam.
The boat accommodates two cabins and two heads. The galley has been upgraded with single-piece quartz countertops and new fixtures, along with a drawer-style refrigerator/freezer to supplement the under-counter refrigerator and stand-alone freezer. The electrical system has been re-engineered with Lithium-Ion batteries, a dedicated L-I inverter/battery charger, and upgraded engine alternators designed for L-I service. Heating is provided by both diesel-fired hydronic cabin heating and electric reverse-cycle air conditioning.
Navigation and communication systems include a complete Simrad suite installed at both helm stations: GPS/chartplotter, depth sounder with fish finder capability, autopilot, 24-mile radar with enclosed radome, and send/receive AIS. New VHF radios are mounted at each helm. The sanitary system has been upgraded with new freshwater-flush electric heads and non-permeable plumbing throughout. Cabin blinds and soft goods have been updated, and the boat has been maintained under cover.
